MegaCon Live Cosplay Masquerade Application London 2025

MegaCon Live Cosplay Masquerade Application London 2025

Thank you for your interest in applying for the Megacon Live London Cosplay Masquerade. We’re excited to see your application.

Applications are reviewed in batches, and in the case of oversubscription, are selected based on completeness + level of detail of the application. In the case of oversubscription we will also select applications for variety in terms of performance type.

If you are editing your application while the form is on waitlist mode, please disregard the waitlist terminology on the form.

We have introduced experience classes to the MegaCon Live Masquerades, and there are three classes you can enter. Classes are self-assigned, but our team is happy to help you select a class to enter in. You can learn more about the classes here: https://guildofnerds.org/megacon/

Please ensure that you’ve read the rules found HERE before submitting your application to ensure that your costume meets the requirements. If you’re unsure about which class to enter, you can read our blog posts about the new classes at guildofnerds.org

We do have specific rules relating to performances. Please be sure that your planned performance falls within the performance guidelines. A summary of these guidelines can be found here: Performance Rules Summary. Please note that, in the case of oversubscription, well thought-out performances count towards the 'completeness' of your application.

The Classes are:

Bard: For cosplayers who are performers at heart, but haven’t made their cosplay. This class is a celebration of the stagecraft and 'play' part of our hobby. You must have a detailed performance plan to enter this class. This class runs both days of the event.
Adventurer: For cosplayers with less experience competing or making cosplays, who are excited to get started! You must have made 50% or more of your cosplay to enter this class. This class runs both days of the event.
Artificer: For more experienced cosplayers who’ve been competing for a long time, have won awards, or have lots of making experience. You must have made 80% or more of your cosplay to enter this class. This class only runs Saturday of the London event.
Challenger: This is the ECG Qualifiers, and is ran on the Sunday only of the London event. The ECG Qualifiers have different rules than the Masquerade and different requirements for entry. Applications for ECG Qualifiers are a seperate form.

Performance is a part of all classes, but Adventurers and Artificers can enter with a walk-on entry if they prefer.

Experience classes are here to help cosplayers of similar experience levels compete against each other. Please read about the three classes at https://guildofnerds.org/megacon/ to learn more.

For group applications, please choose a Group Leader, who will fill in the form on behalf of your whole group. The maximum group size is six people.

Remember, that the Best in Show, Best Adventurer and Best Bard awards all take performance into account. The only awards that don't take performance into account are Artificer Craftsmanship, and Adventurer Craftsmanship awards.

Masquerade Entrants whose applications are approved will have to check in at the Cosplay Village by 1pm on the day they are entering. Adventurers and Artificers may be asked to be there even earlier for pre-judging which runs from Show Open to 1pm. The exact start time of the Masquerade is not confirmed at this time, but it is a two hour show typically scheduled for the end of the convention day.

The stage is wheelchair accessible via a ramp which is the standard width of 900mm/90cm.

Entrants must be 12 years or older, and any entrants between the ages of 12 and 15 will need to be registered by parent/guardian and accompanied by their parent or guardian backstage and during Adventurer Pre-Judging.

If you have any questions or concerns in the meantime, please contact the administration team at cosplay@guildofnerds.org - Good luck!
